The Krewe of Centurions would like to extend to bands in our geographic region an invitation to join us in our annual Mardi Gras parade. Our parade is to be held on Friday evening, February 12, 2010. Our parade starts at 7:00 p.m., leaving from the parking area behind Sears at the Clearview Mall, in Metairie, LA. The length of the parade is about 5 ½ miles.

Please note that this year we are asking you to join us on a new night, Friday, February 12, 2010. This is Mardi Gras weekend. Jefferson Parish is allowing us to move to this date due to the conflict with Super Bowl on Sunday the 7th, our normal parade night.

Also new this year will be a “Battle Of The Bands”. We will award trophies and monetary awards for First Place, Second Place and Third Place bands to be awarded at the parish-reviewing stand on Veterans Memorial Blvd.

We would ask that you submit your intent of interest before October 1, 2009 and would ask that you include the fee you charge for participation, the number of musicians in your band and auxiliary if any. The parish office governing parades has a minimum member requirement.

We are looking forward to presenting a parade that truly sets the tone for Mardi Gras for our parish and guests on this new night for Centurions.
